Problems Caused by Clogged Gutters

Many major problems can be avoided if we clean our gutters regularly. Build up in gutters can cause sagging gutters, which will throw off the pitch and cause water to drain improperly. Many people don't realize the amount of weight sitting in their spouts. Roofing sediment, leaves, and seed pods, if left in you gutters will decompose and turn into dirt. A clogged pipe or downspout can cause water to sit in you gutters; in the winter will freeze and ruin your gutters. Stagnant water can lead to many unwated issues. For instance, bugs and insects can be attracted to your gutters.

A clogged downspout can also cause water to run back under your roofline, causing water damage to the plywood under you roof. That's a very costly repair which could have been avoided with routine cleanouts.
